Germany, as a significant center for medical technology and pharmaceuticals, plays a key role in the healthcare sector. In 2022, the sector significantly contributed to the economy with an added value of €439.6 billion, employing 8.1 million people and contributing 12.7% to the GDP. The leading position in healthcare, coupled with a strong economy (€3.87 trillion GDP in 2022), underscores its importance. The Arab countries, with a population of 450 million, are focusing on modernized and resilient healthcare systems post the Covid-19 crisis. Despite challenges, Arab-German business relations thrive, and trade in the healthcare sector reached €50.8 billion in 2022. The eighth edition of the “Healthcare Guide” emphasizes the mutual interest and showcases outstanding Arab-German projects. The Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce promotes these business relations.
